Originally from Grindsted, where he played in his first garage band, he later moved to Aarhus, graduating from the music conservatory in Aarhus in 2009. He is now residing in the lovely old town of Roskilde.

Not to forget his own solo projects surf-rock band The Curse of Harry Dean, and soundtracks to Danish litterature “At fortælle menneskene” (2015) and “Store træers grønne mørke” (2024).

As a film composer, Kjærgaard has done scores for several short films and series, including the title track for “Sladderhistorie” – season 1 (DR – Danish national television)
